Not sure about laughing at other brands. i use LaRue and SPUHR and my impression of LaRue is that it is excellent quality and repeatability. SPUHR has design advantages but LaRue is solid.
I notice about 1cm (0.4") shift in zero when taking on and off a LaRue. To be fair, every new day is new shooting conditions so some of that POI shift is ambient change and some of that is just how a scope mount will never go back on in exactly the same spot. i don't think you can ever expect the zero not to shift when taking off a scope.
For me I am happy with screws as it's a sleeker profile (less things sticking out to catch on you and the scrub) and one less thing that can come loose. I prefer the LaRue QD so tight you need an extra lever to open them. Given that, I don't see the advantage in QD, and that leaves only disadvantages. if you want to take the scope on and off in the field, which for me is rare, you can carry a hex wrench in the butt trap or pistol grip. Line up the torque marks on the screws and it's the same known torque as previous. This will lessen POI shift.
Note the torque marks on the bottom of each screw. If this was for two guns you could use black marker pen for one gun and another colour (green) for the other rail. Or you could just do your scope changing at home and use a torque wrench. My point is, you don't really need QD for regular swapping of scopes.
