Just built my second upper with the Monster barrel. This one is my coyote upper, that will be dedicated to shooting Barnes 120gr TTSX. I just replaced my Faxon barreled upper. Scabbed the hand guard, and the barrel will collect dust. All components are new except the Aero Precision hand guard. Midway USA Stoner upper, forward assist, Battle Arms charging handle, K&M NiB bolt carrier, AR Stoner gas tube and pin. It has atop it a 3x9x40 Leupold Freedom scope on it. YHM Mount and Leupold rings.
I like BFTs barrel, because of the higher twist rate, heavier bullets, higher velocities. The contour being thick at the chamber end, it will not sag in the middle, the Faxon gunner profile is very thin at the chamber end. I am not knocking Faxon, but the Monster has a set of characteristics that make for an excellent barrel at an outstanding price. Very rare combo these days. A2
