I should note that my gas block journal length is designed for the popular 1" micro gas blocks and so its length is 1.3" (this accommodates up to the JP adjustable block). This is to shave weight.

A standard A2 front sight tower needs a gas block journal of 1.9", so it is incompatible with my barrels.

Also, since the majority of users will position their micro gas blocks under the rails — and not use the old-school handguards with a handguard cap — my gas port position is specced so one can butt up their gas block right to the gas block shoulder to align the block's gas port over the center of the barrel gas port.
