This NovX seems cool, as well, although it seems to me physics limits its use to close-quarters training:
1) Ultra light for caliber matrix bullets lose momentum fast the polar opposite heavy for caliber high-BC lead bullets in 6.5 Grendel and 6mmARC.
2) Also, yes, higher velocity gives one a bigger temporary stretch cavity, but unless you combine it with fragmentation its effectiveness is limited. I'd have to see terminal ballistics testing in gel and not just clay.
Dig the idea of stainless steel case walls and a hardened aluminum primer base for lighter overall weight, though.
However, I don't think NovX is the new Federal super alloy case technology they're talking about in the contract.
