I generally start at 10-15 thou for any rifle I dont like a jam as im looking for ultra reliable hunting performance
As others have said most projectiles will run out of room in the mag well before hitting the lans
By all means messure that its good to know how much jump you do have but for the most part you can just load maximum coal for the Magazine and go from there
If it doesnt fit in the magazine its pointless unless you are a bench rest shooter or target shooter
But as a hunter fitting in the magazine is the main issue to be sure of
