Historically J&T has been the "value" point for true grendels. You won't win any snob awards as they are largely rack grade barrels, but then again, so are many other mfg's.
I have first hand experience with two J&T grendels, and many more 5.56 kits from them. The two grendels are both great shooters, and are turning in excellent accuracy, especially given the non-exotic barrels. (high end barrels are more than the complete J&T kit cost!)
The J&T bull barrel grendel with the Wilson Air gauged barrel is one of the most accurate rifles I have owned/shot, and performed well with just about every load. (mostly 120/123g reloads and Hornady).
My brother's A2 JT grendel is a little pickier about loads, but still shoots very well. It shot sub-moa with Hornady factory ammo, not bad for an A2 config with standard stock & trigger.
If you are just getting started with Grendel it's an inexpensive option, and availability is usually good.
The difference between J&T and some of the others is that they have stuck to Grendel specs all along. They also can/will tell you specifics about their parts if you ask, and offer pretty much every upgrade in components you might be interested in. (Triggers, bolt carriers, free float, etc)
