Yes, it is a gated community, but it appears as if the gate may not have been locked, or may have been unlocked for the protesters by someone with a key.


It was certainly prudent of the McCloskeys to arm themselves, but they did so well before the alleged verbal threats happened -- if they actually happened.

Pretty much everything else that the McCloskeys did was (IMO) quite imprudent, and not only escalated the situation, but led to their current legal problem.

Apparently you didn't listen to the video the verbal threats were there and numerous and in actions witnessed in the video.
