I haven't shopped for ammo in awhile, except G factory ammo, so that I have enough brass to reload for the next couple years. Goal is to have 3000 rounds minimum to keep 3 Grendels fed. I wouldn't consider that even close to hoarding. I would be happier to have twice that.
Panic buying is to be expected for the foreseeable future, all things considered. I started buying bulk 5.56 and 7.62x39 back in the late early 90s when Chinese steel core was still readily available, before ffls were banned from selling it and continued purchasing it from private sellers. I seemed to be more prescient than many others back then. I felt I needed 10k min. of those 2 calibers. I still don't consider that hoarding. The 7.62 SC was a disappearing commodity, so bought it when ever I ran across some. Didn't plan on using SC unless it was necessary, so bulked up on fmj for plinking and some training. Since one can burn through 1500 5.56 or 7.62x39 in a 2 or 3 day class, it seemed 10k was a reasonable qty. to keep on hand.
If things go bad, I'm so far out in the sticks, I don't expect too much trouble. Only about 10 homes in the square mile around our place, which occupies the high ground
all solid conservative families, one an LE and half the remainder farmers. Hard to see a need to bugout if it comes to that, but prepared to do so anyway. My wife wouldn't be able to bugout for any length of time anyway, due to health issues. If things go south, we'll hunker down, won't need to worry about ammo for awhile. The bigger concern would be a lack of trigger fingers.
Mateba is spot on about the BLM mission statement. The 3 female cofounders are self professed trained organizers and Marxists. Their goal isn't to educate or have a conversation with those that disagree with their platform to try and get along. I consider them to be a paramilitary arm of those that want Trump out of office. Their strengths are they're young, very tech savvy and highly unpredictable and motivated. Their weakness appears to be they're poorly trained for armed conflict. I'm sure they recognize that and are working toward minimizing that based on comms coming from the dark web.
I don't pretend to know how things shake out, regardless of who gets elected. One thing is certain, if they push a Marxist agenda, which is clearly apparent, there is going to be a big problem.
