Specs in the LabRadar manual list an operating frequency of
24.080 to 24.168 GHz, using 8 MHz steps for Doppler.
L band: 1-2 GHz - ATC centers, long range air traffic radar
S band: 2-4 GHz - TRACON (terminal air traffic control); long range Wx
C band: 4-8 GHz - Satellite transponders; Wx radar
X band: 8-12 GHz - Old missile guidance; marine Wx; ASDE-X aircraft surface movement
Ku band: 12-18 GHz - Police; Hi res mapping
K band: 18-27 GHz - Wx Cloud tops; Police
Ka band: 27-40 GHz - Airport Traffic Surface Surveillance; mapping
LabRadar would fall in the K band. Because it uses Doppler waveforms, it should be very effective at rejecting strong in band but uncorrelated signals. I wouldnt worry about it near an airport terminal radar - apples & oranges.
Thanks Growler. I just might invest in a LabRadar for my load work. Like I said, I've never seen anyone at our range with LabRadar or Magneto Speed either. Everyone I see is still using sky screen chronographs.
As for the K band frequency range, where the rifle range is, I doubt the police would be running speed traps!
