They are both what I would consider to be top line for the typical to above average shooter (what's top for serious competitors, I wouldn't know).
That being said, each one has it advantages and disadvantages.
I've been with the mgspd for several years and don't have any need to look elsewhere, I upgraded to the v3 about a year ago.
I use it for all of my load development work.
You can take any straight aluminum cleaning rod piece or a 1/4" dowel and lay it from muzzle end back into the barrel for several inches, and judge straightness and nearness of the blade to your bullet path.
The other thing I do is to periodically sight from bolt end down the tube to verify I see 0 of the blade...
For a nominal 0.7/0.75 inch diameter muzzle end the distance is fine.
Tapered barrels like bolt/ sporters tend to have some alignment issues but you can fix that with a small pad of duck tape, adjust to taste.
Also you can adjust the sensitivity of the blade if the distance seems a bit far.
Using the aluminum rod piece or dowel is the best way IMO to verify distance and alignment.
