Those things are corrosion magnets and the first thing I do is get them off the barrel, ASAP.

up until this last week ive been using it about every day , i take it off and clean it very often , though this last week or so i havent even had it on the gun ive gone back to my muzzle brake for a bit. ill have to keep that in mind from now on though
