I own a silencerco omega 300 , that I use for .308 on down,including my 6.5 Grendel. its a great suppressor. Easy to swap between rifles.Only problem is that you have to buy a proprietary $100 muzzle brake for each rifle order to swap it.
This past March,I purchased a Griffin GP7 Direct Mount suppressor. To my surprise ,tax stamp arrived on Friday. Quickest I ever heard!(3 1/2 mo) Considering ,Im also waiting for a dead air rimfire suppressor, a griffin revolution 9 and a Griffin GP5 which I ordered prior to the GP7, November/December of last year.
Anyway I took the GP7 to the range yesterday and today.I shot it on my 6.5 Grendel and my AR 308. I like that it mounts directly without having to buy expensive muzzle breaks But I have to wait till it cools down a bit before removing it to install on another rifle.It is light.And IMO,is as quiet as the Silencerco at 1/2 the price.
There are pros and cons to direct mount and quick disconnect. I guess if youre just shooting it on one rifle at a time, the direct mount is fine.
So Im throwing this up for discussion to hear other shooters opinions on the subject.
