That's the elephant in the room. Because nobody is talking about it that I can find.
Been on the 6mm ARC Facebook page the last few days researching real world velocity data for 24 and 12 inch barrel lengths as well.
For me and my useage, the juice ain't worth the squeese. Now if I didn't have a cz grendel and 2 short barreled grendels already. Then yea I would still be in the hunt for the 6mm ARC.
The velocity's I was able to find for a 11.5 inch shooting the match 6mm ARC ammo from hornady, was the same as my 120 gold dot handloads from my 12 and 12.5 inch grendels.
The velocity's I was able to find for 24 inch rifles compared to my 123 eld-m and 129 ablr handloads, wasn't enough for me to justify getting a long barreled 6mm arc.
True it was supersonic to 1000 yards but so are my 123 eld-m and 129 ablr handloads. I don't compete and shooting at a grand is just for fun for me, so no need for me to speed more money to get something new that does what I already have.
I still like it and will still keep up with it and still love to see more advancement of the grendel case concept and it does have advantages in drop and drift. Just not enough for my usage to warrant the expense to get into a new round.
