Welcome to the forum cwo4uscgret! Thank you for your service and in regards to your thoughts on using a Leupold Mark AR optic I have a 3-9x40 mil dot first gen. The scope is clear and tracks correctly but the scope is poor in low light. I took several of my scopes out one evening and did comparisons in low light conditions. My scope has the mil dot reticle with MOA turrets which many people dislike. Im using my Mark AR scope on a 16 6.5 Grendel and put it in a 20 MOA mount. This rifle has proven accurate but ran out of elevation around 800 yards so I decided to use a 20 MOA mount. The prices are very similar or the same for a 20 MOA mount compared to a zero cant mount. You might consider a 20 MOA mount for a 20 6.5 Grendel. I have recently bought a couple of Warne SKEL 20 MOA one piece mounts and found them to be good mounts for approximately $100.
