This can be as simple or as elaborate as you wish to make it. Several 3rd party apertures, scope and dot mounts are available. Dead simple methods such as gluing/taping a piece of a drinking straw, small diameter metal or rigid plastic tubing or even a roll pin all work. Another that is cheap and requires no alteration is using a speed square as an aiming device.

LabRadar's choice of a V-notch is baffling, it would have cost virtually nothing for them to mold a tube into the top of the case.
