You being in Canada - if you can do this across borders - LongRifles, Incorporated in South Dakota is well known for their gunsmithing. They do 5 axis blueprinting on Remingtons - with very quick turnaround.
Like you - I have never had any problems with Remington extractors and even bolt handles. However, in the circles of practical precision competitions I have read that Remington bolt handles pop off and extractors fail, but these are rifles that are being worked very hard in a short amount of time.
I personally have used a stock Remington 700 in 2 of said competitions without any problem, but many people are running 10K plus rounds a year out of their rifles which wears out equipment. I don't have the privilege of getting to shoot that much.
I really like my Howa Mini - I just got the bolt back yesterday from having the handle threaded.
If I had a model 7 already and I wanted a Grendel I would definitely consider going with the M7.
