Ramshot Tac - 100 - 129 target & hunting/SD
Close to 2520 velocity/performance with nearly the temp stability of 8208XBR. Meters great, burns clean. Temp stability is better than Milspec requirements, so it gets the nod over 2520 for anything that HAS to work.
AA 2520 - 123 - 129+ target only
AA 2520 meters like water, screamin velocities, and it's clean burning, only problem is temp stability. Basically potato - potatoe with CFE 223 same pros & same cons, but it's $4 cheaper per 8lb keg at Powder Valley so it gets the nod. Besides the max CFE 223 loads get a little too "crunchy" for comfort, but I'm probably just being a wuss LOL (also I just don't have a lot of love for Hodgdon, other people make some great powders for them. But their load data is meh and their advertising sucks. Kinda just coastin along without a real competitior that can stack up against H/IMR/Winchester combined).
Honorable mentions:
AR-Comp -People around here say it's the bees knees but Ramshot TAC is $47.00 cheaper than AR-Comp for an 8lb jug. Maybe I'd love AR-Comp if I gave it a shot, but I highly doubt I'd love it more than 8lb of TAC and 2lbs of Power Pistol or True Blue for the same price.
8208XBR - love this powder, only thing that knocked it out of my top 2 is I finally completed my 12.5 build and those few FPS gains matter more to me now than they did when I only had an 18in SS.
