Here's a question for you...What length to seat? I've been trying to get a load for the Barnes 115 grain TAC-TX. The info on the Barnes site says they loaded to a COAL of 2.185". I did some preliminary testing with OAL and it indicated that longer OAL's were more accurate. I have two new loads made up for the range this week, both with a COAL of 2.23". This is the same OAL as I use with my 223 upper. It shoots at 0.37" with the 55 grain Barnes MPG and a 2.23" COAL. The 223 upper also shoots better with bullets seated long. Another reason I picked the 2.23" OAL was that it is about maximum to fit in the magazine with a little "wiggle room". Has anyone else experimented with different OAL's? I should be going to the range Wednesday or Thursday, depending on my son's work schedule and him putting a new front sight on his Henry 45-70.
