Thanks A5Blaster!! i just assumed, since it was a pin, it was in hard. well that is cool. the extractor is, then, field replaceable with just a pin punch, no hammer necessary.
do you carry a spare complete bolt? or just a spare extractor? aside from the queries on the broken extractors, it seems once the gassing is resolved, however that occurs, that the only part that seems to break is the extractor. or else no one mentions if they had some other part break. seems a fairly reliable design.
