Back in the early days of the M16 they used to say a lot of the field stripping stuff could be done with the bullet tip of a cartridge. So, that might work like A5B says but I haven't tried it.
About headspace: I have never seen one of my bolts out of spec on the headspace they have always been dead nuts on so I consider them completely interchangeable. So don't worry about a replacement bolt having incorrect headspace. I'm completely confident if you're replacing a MONSTER with a MONSTER, and mostly confident if you're replacing a different brand with a MONSTER just make sure they're both Type 2 and the barrel is Type 2.
If I was worried about a bolt breaking at a critical time in the field, yes, I would carry a spare bolt as the easiest way to get back up and running quickly. That's cuz if you think you're just gonna carry a spare extractor for an extractor failure, what if the lugs break? My theory is it's best to have a complete bolt as a spare.
