i'd like to get a complete grendel type 2 bolt ... I think. i've been seeing queries periodically about replacements for broken extractors. but broken extractors need tools to get them replaced, and in the field those specific ones i usually don't have with me, but, i think i can easily just swap out a bolt, if i have to. so maybe a complete bolt AND a spare extractor. but a complete bolt begs another question which i'm sure you already know what i'm going to ask... what about headspace?? my impression is that the barrel assemblies and bolts are most often sold as sets because of headspacing. would i need to worry about incorrect headspace by swapping out a bolt assembly? i currently don't have any go/no-go headspace gauges for the 6.5 Grendel. if there's a risk of incorrect headspace, then i suspect a more prudent thing would be to just buy a spare extractor only, and always have a hammer and punch with when in the field?? kind of inconvenient methinks. your guidance would be appeciated.
