As I remember the Old Corp fireteam was based on the BAR. Three fire teams three BARs per squad. When the BAR was pulled , they tried M-14 w/selectors, M-60s, and m249s, one to a squad(?). Now it is back to Three mag. fed ARs. Its been 50 years and I may be wrong. And I think m249s are available from the Weapon company.
