Next guess is mag related. Clean up the edges a bit, seems that as the rounds rise, the slight reduction in spring rate may be losing to the friction of the sharp feed lips. If I had to bet, that would be my next move. Pay special attention to the front mag lip. Giving the inside edge a bit of a de-burr and chamfer may pay dividends. If the inside of the feed lips are rough, I'd de-burr those too. I think you've hit the nail on the proverbial head when you said it just needs some break in. The mags are especially bad in this respect.
