After a few misses, a tree getting between me and a fox, the Grendel and I finally connected with a nice red!
I went to several properties with no luck calling in anything. The last property I went to Ive called pretty hard this winter and didnt expect much but I tried a stand closer to the road than I normally do, and on the other side since the wind was out of the south instead of the normal west.
As soon as I started calling a raccoon came in but I was unable to get a clear shot at it. I continued calling and actually heard a coyote from behind me so I turned around and could just make out its eyes with my IR illuminator but it wouldnt come in and was several hundred yards out and in an unsafe direction to shoot. Every time I played the FoxPro the coyote would look my way and then look away when Id turn it off, it got pretty frustrating so I switched up sounds to grey fox and within 30 seconds this dude came in to about 125 yards! I dumped him right where I saw him with a 90 grain TNT and he was history! The bullet did its job perfectly, no exit and minimal hide damage! Very pleased with everything this Grendel can do!
