Bill A. short-chambered and fitted a new barrel extension to my Lilja 18" group buy barrel after I got it in 2013-2014 timeframe. That's why it's a 17.6" barrel with a custom gas tube he made as well.
He went through a box of extensions until he found one that would clock correctly and did exactly what it being discussed in this thread.
It is probably my favorite barrel because it defies the typical constraint faced by lightweight barrels and accuracy, giving me the best of both worlds.
Sure, my 22" heavy Bartlein .260 Rem barrel is a little more accurate, but that rifle is a beast to lug around.
I can clear rooms with the lightweight Lilja build, then make high hit probability shots at distances that give a lot of heavy bolt guns a run for their money.
Also, it appears the AA barrels are now 5/8x24 thread pattern on the muzzles.
