If you recall the Grenada Invasion, Hollywood approached certain units within the Army who had actually rescued US hostages at the Medical University, including guys from 75th Ranger Regiment. They were flatly turned down.
As a result, they turned to another source, and made the movie, Heartbreak Ridge with Clint Eastwood. Many of the scenes in that movie are composites of action executed by Rangers and SEALs, with regards to the rescue of US citizens from True Blue Campus, and the use of a credit card and land line to phone up a parent unit in the States to arrange for Close Air Support from an AC-130.
sniper body counts depend on "confirmed kills", which are more easily confirmed in some instances than others. Carlos Hathcock, working way out in the boonies, undoubtedly had a bunch of unconfirmed. The guys in urban environments, especially with modern drones doing battlefield surveillance, likely get a higher % of confirmations. I, too, was stunned to see Chris Kyle just put himself out in public like he did.
There's a guy named Dalton Fury ( pseudonym) who claims to be some spooky Delta bin Laden hunter. That dude is careful to never show his face, real deal or not.
