My 20" shoots OK, but not super great. With tuned ammo, mine can crowd to 1.5-2 MOA. For many applications I suppose that's just fine.
100 gr Nosler BTHP with 8208 (book-max = 30.8) (Single 5-shot groups, so not definitive)
28.1 - 2504 fps - 1.5 MOA
28.5 - 2520 fps - 3.2 MOA
28.8 - 2570 fps - 2.2 MOA
29.5 - 2612 fps - 4.0 MOA
30.0 - 2663 fps - 2.1 MOA
30.5 - 2716 fps - 1.7 MOA
One thing about Maloniting; I love it and my custom match-rifle .223 barrels that I use in competition are malonited by oil-field tool hardnening company. But beware that maloniting also short-circuits barrel break-in. Imperfections in the cut-job on a barrel, once malonited, are preserved and don't wear down so fast.
For the price-point, I still think the group-buy barrels are good deal, especially for just general purpose usage, and usage like the 12". I think one CAN get a cherry sub-MOA shooter; but like others said, for that price point don't just assume and expect every barrel in the pile to be a sub MOA Barrel.
