I've seen and been told that you will notice slight accuracy changes as the throat erodes due to an increasing jump. Load incrementally longer to chase your groups again. When you see velocities dump 2-300 fps, you know it's time to change barrels. The dump will happen suddenly, in a few shots, and you'll see your accuracy vanish. It will be obvious. Re-checking your load over your chrony, you'll see the vel. loss.
My 12" build has about 2300 rounds on it, and I'm loading 12 thousandths longer than I did at 200 rounds to maintain groups. My LaRue has somewhere near 2560, and I've stopped having to load longer. I think the last time I checked dtl, was at about 1300 rounds. I will check when I notice my Benchmark and 120SMK load not doing what I expect. Since 1300, it's been money. I shoot a lot of steel through my pistol. No steel in the LaRue. Both show no issues with throat erosion that I'm good enough to track well enough to report here. From what I can tell, both throats eroded about 15-20 thou and stopped.
