Lz, nice writeup and kudos for the honesty in report/analysis.
I can't speak to that high caliber of shooting matches (can't really do prone -- my back...) but in my times off the bench, I too found the bipod to be challenging from a hard surface. I've since switched to a rest/sand (or bag if you will) and a rear bag, which dampens any recoil off of that hard surface. Also I can avoid inconsistencies in my "preloading" or such.
Plus, if you have the time/etc, do you have a 123 sst/Eldm load for the Monster barrel around 2480-2510 ft/s? It would be nice to see what that load combo would do. Doesn't have to be seated way long, the sst's so far have not been Coal sensitive - I use 2.250 give or take...
