Never on an AR. You have a comparator, use that. Measure a fired case and adjust the die until you bump the shoulder .003.
If you ever acquire a bolt you can neck size only. That brass will have to used only for that gun though.
My 6.5G bbl gas block is lightly resting on a pic rail attach nut, which I think is bad juju, as the bbl is no longer floating from the receiver, correct?
This will 100% cause problems. A free-floating barrel needs to be objection free. If it?s touching a an attachment bolt it will cause issues, mainly accuracy.
On you list of stuff that you have bought, I?d make one recommendation. I did not see an auto-charge anywhere. You?ll quickly find out that Hornady?s powder measure is a real lain in ass with any extruded powder. You?ll end up weighing them individually if you want consistent results. I bought a Chargemaster 7yrs ago and use that sucker a ton.
Yeah, I've my eye on an auto-charger/auto-trickler. Ima learn with the use of the manual dispenser/scale and then, when/if I get frustrated enough, I'll pony up for the automated powder dispenser. I need new glass for the weapon first, however...
