Worked on The Break-In today. Going slowly and enjoying it. My range bench is right outside to the door to the gun shack. The 25 and 50Y ranges are sheltered by trees but the 100 and 200 and beyond ranges are out in the open and exposed to what can be a pretty stiff wind. Usually when working up loads I use the 50Y range, as I am doing with the Howa. I am following a modified break-in and it's going well. So far have fired only 18 rounds. Best so far (at 50Y) is a .221 three-shot group. The 'scope (a 1.5-6x42) will not lend itself very well to precise 100/200Y work and when it comes to that I will mount a 25x Leupold target 'scope that will give me much more precise info.
Out of the box the trigger measured 2-pounds 10-ounces. Crisp and creepless I doubt I will have to do anything to it for what I will be using the rifle for.
It does not really need it, but I installed a brake today. Makes a difference, but hard for me to tell exactly how much of a difference. This is an extremely gentle, sweet-shooting rifle. But I guess everybody already knew that.

Lol we was just busting your chops a lil bit. Howa doesnt make a mauser action. Their mini action is more of a scaled down model 700 action then a mauser action.
