Lt-32/lt-30

Western has online load data which has 6.5 Grendel data using LT30 & LT 32. LT 30 & LT 32 are very fast powders, even faster than A2200 then A2230. According to Western’s burn rate chart IMR8208XBR is on the same line as H4895 and one line below A2520. A max load of LT32 with a 123 grain SCENAR bullet out of a 20” barrel is 2204 FPS at 51585 psi. A2230 max load with a 123 grain SCENAR is giving 2388 FPS at 51668 psi. A2520 max load gives with 123 grain SCENAR 2471 FPS at 51833 psi.

I have never used LT30 or LT 32 powder but I would use this powder with lighter bullets under 108 grains in the 6.5 Grendel. Popular powders that give reasonable temperature stability are H4895, AR Comp, Benchmark and IMR8208XBR. A few forum members have used Power Pro Varmint and gotten good velocities. CFE223 and LeveRevolution produce higher velocities in the 6.5 Grendel but are ball powders that aren’t temperature stable. Alliant released Reloader 15.5 which is supposed to be a temperature stable powder and there is load data online for the 6.5 Grendel. I haven’t seen much talk about R15.5 but Johnny’s Reloading bench used some R15.5 with the 6 ARC. Reloader 15.5 might be to bulky a powder to get decent velocity due to the 6.5 Grendel small case capacity. I haven’t seen any Reloader 15.5 locally or I’d probably buy a pound for testing.
