I can defer the purchase of a reloading rig, as I can buy factory cartridges vs. reloading, so an immediate expenditure in that space isn't required. Conversely, I couldn't shoot a weapon/optics that I didn't have, so an immediate acquisition was made, to satisfy a decades-long yearning that I've had (since I separated (back in '92) - the ex had a family member murdered by an asshat with a firearm - she predicated no weapons, and I caved, out of love and respect - given that I am no longer subject to such a commitment, I scratched that itch in the immediate).
