Have to agree with the hoard on this That long of a barrel will most likely REQUIRE an AGB. If you only have a 5.56 in a 14" barrel with flash suppressor and a carbine buffer, and the whole wide world had nothing but the same configuration, then I can agree somewhat. However, being able to "tweak" anything we as humans own, be it a car, truck, chainsaw, gun, ammo, PC, cell phone, outdoor grill, toaster, etc, adds to innovation and a knowledge shared on these vary same forums you are reading. The pressures created by the extra long barrel on this gun may need tweaking and an adjustable gas block may be the only way to get this upper to shoot correctly out of the box. The key word here is "may". The manufacturer "may" have it dialed in from the factory but when you add that many inches to a barrel, it's GOOD to have an adjustable gas block. Normally once it's adjusted well, it will never need adjusting again. Very few "things" that are manufactured come with no adjustment capability. The ones that don't are more likely to experience trouble and are deemed irreparable. I understand the the over-concept of too much fluff and BS on anything verses simplicity and making something right that can be adjusted wrong! These are valid arguments. However, there are somethings that should be adjustable or configurable by the end user. Most are "set it and forget it"!
