Still getting a short stroke event (bolt over base), and fail to lock on last round) occasionally. Brass ejecting 4:30 to 5:00 and about 5 or 6 feet out. I don't shoot that much, and these have happened twice out the last 10 rounds. I increased the powder on my loads to see if that helped. First few rounds locked back, but then with two in mag, the second didn't lock. I think I'm going to drill the port out .002" and see what that does. It has always seemed to me to be a bit under gassed since new.
Is it practical to drill it for mid gas? How would you plug the rl gas port? Just a thought.
I am getting close to going back to using my other ar15 .223. I never had even a single malfunction with that rifle and it shoots very accurately. I really like the GR but, I don't have the time or patience to continue much further. Sad thing is, it shoots anything I feed it accurately. I'll keep working on it for a while. Thanks for any more ideas.
