China has a problem with assault knives

I'm 100% certain there is nothing we could do that would cause them to stop their incessant cries to ban guns.

I asked how you would respond to their demands.

I guess I wasn't clear. I see no point in responding to their demands, because nothing we can say will change their minds.

Lets say you were in a debate and had to present arguments in favor of our right to own firearms and specifically semi automatic fireaarms.
What would your arguments be?

I've never cared much for hypothetical questions, because their usual intent is to set up the respondent to give an answer that the questioner wants. Normally I refuse to play that game.

If I were forced to participate in such a hypothetical debate, I don't know if I could come up with any good arguments. The only reason I have for opposing a ban on semi-auto firearms is that I enjoy owning and shooting them.
