It could be done but I would think you’d want to go with a 22-250 magazine. Personally, I’d find a good deal on a rem 700 in .243 or similar, rebarrel, buy a PT&G bolt, modify mag components and be done with it. Lots of unknowns with the 788 mags IMO.
