Article I, Section 2 of the Constitution sets three qualifications for representatives. Each representative must: (1) be at least twenty-five years old; (2) have been a citizen of the United States for the past seven years; and (3) be (at the time of the election) an inhabitant of the state they represent.
What I find mindboggling is the absence of education or experience requirements for the Presidency. In order to be Chief of Staff of the Army or Air Force, one must have years of military education and experience. Yet, a person with ZERO military experience can be Commander-in-Chief of the entire Armed Forces, as long as he/she can convince enough people to vote for him/her.
