Ok update time again.
Got anouther 300 rounds throw the mags today. Had 3 failures all due to gas issues. Each mag is running 28 rounds of grendel from the 30 round six8 pmag.
The first few rounds to be chambered are angled down just a hair more then I would like. And what has happened is the bullet tip has carved some false feed ramps through the very top of the mags front edge.
After seeing that I figured the mags were toast but strangely enough they started feeding even smoother and seemed to have finally finished breaking in. Because the mags loaded to full are easy to insert and lock into the rifle now.
Will be working on a modifiyed follower soon. First I will trim the followers legs and see if I can reach the 30 round mark. If that works and has reliable feeding. Then I will work on changing the shelf angle and see if that will improve the round stack and help bring the bullet tips back up enough so they won't hit the front mag lip like they have done.
I will post a pic soon of what I'm talking about with the false feed ramps.
