Heavier projectiles mean the spring and follower lift characteristics against the cartridge stack have to be taken into consideration.
People found out about this the hard way with 300 Whisper/300 Blackout, which us why Magpul made 300 BLK specific AR15 mags for it, in addition to the ogive clearance necessary for some projectiles and COLs that 5.56 mags don't provide due to the forward guide rib intrusion.
1650gr of projectiles up front in the stack is a lot less than 7200gr of 300 BLK subs.
With Grendel, the differences aren't so drastic though comparing 123gr to 130gr:
3075gr for a 25rd mag vs 3250gr with a 130gr.
1230gr vs 1300gr in the 10rd mag.
