Ten percent of your people take up 90 percent of your time. By far the most threads I have locked have been 2A so I wouldn't say that LR55 has a propensity to lock threads. I have done so in other forums and just like the 2A forum, only after repeated warnings and sometimes with questions that hopefully get the thread back on track.
I do not like policing the 2A forum because it either ends up with guys repeating their arguments, insulting each other, or turns into a forum for guys to rant about things that never were part of the thread, let alone the 2A.
However, I will not ignore the 2A forum either because sometimes people can actually keep a decent 2A thread going and the information they provide is sound. Unfortunately, I have only seen a couple of 2A threads that actually got into the history of the 2A and what it means today. The rest have ranged from pure rumors to resurrecting a policy or some sort of proposed legislation that died years and sometimes decades ago.
Also, I do not like seeing people argue for the sake of arguing. If I detect someone is arguing simply to argue, I will first tell them to stop and if it continues I normally lock the thread. I rarely ban someone because I do not like banning people. Comes from being forced to hand out Article 15's when I commanded. Never liked doing it but sometimes necessary.
Bottom line is this. I will not ignore the 2A forum and I most certainly will lock threads that have turned into a web of arguments that mostly concern word use and semantics, or turn into bizarre rants. That is when it is time to end the discussion. And for every thread I have locked in another forum, I have locked ten in the 2A forum. Other mods don't want to deal with it anymore. I don't either but do not expect me to change how I mod the 2A forum any time soon.
