His adapter pairs up with a Sony 1.7x teleconverter lense in front of the native lense.

I tried my own doubler design and the original bell housing is all FUBAR, so when I tried Dr. Bob's it was too late for me I had already messed up the bell housing mating surface. On a bone stock Pulsar it should do the trick nicely!

Be advised though I tested the Sony Doubler with the IR illuminator and out to 400 yards the light coming through both lenses was not really enough to take advantage of the additional magnification.

SO IF you are intended to double the 4x to 8x I would say USEABLE range on the setup is 200 yards max.

I will sale you my Sony Teleconverter lense if you are interested since I can't use it until I source a replacement bell housing but since work has me busy I don't plan on hunting for quite awhile so PM me if you are interested in it.
