It is a good sign, but at the same time, I think the students would have walked out equally as fast had pro-gun speakers gotten up and denounced gun control.
Basically, those students and families were suffering from a tragedy and felt used that the speakers were trying to use their pain and suffering to garner political favor during a time when they had come together to heal. It was a cheap shot on behalf of the Brady Campaign.
Of course, there was definitely some naivete on the part of those attending. There is no way in hell that an event held by a political action group wasn't going to be a politicized event.
