you would have a hard time finding a SPC I chamber anymore from a decent vendor, even if you had a 1:10 twist with a SPC II chamber, will run all Tac loads, there are so many more options for ammo for the 6.8
I've shot some of the factory 6.8 stuff, but never chrono'd it, but my handloads exceed their numbers with no pressure signs...., and I agree, i'm in to handloading, working a round up that I want for a particular situation, for example hunting, and the bullet choice that shoots accurately in my barrel...
I agree on the chamber pressure for the Grendel, one of the reasons why I like the 7.62x39 bolt that others don't, it has a deeper recess...
all that being said, I would still stick with the 6.8, until the ammo is on par with availability and the range of bullets equal to that of the .277, for his purposes that this thread is about, the 6.8 is the way to go...
