Crushed: I know you're new here so you don't have the background and with the old forum being hacked and going down with the loss of almost all the info on it, it's hard to get a full picture of what happened in the past.
Suffice it for me to say that there is a many year history through all this going back at least 6 years and probably longer.
There was bad blood between different parties that has continued through today and I won't go into it as it's not really my place to speak.
Maybe someone who was intimately involved will jump in and tell the story although every time someone has tried to in the past, someone else would jump in and say they were wrong and it was the other way around.
There is really only two people who were there and at this point they probably think it isn't worth rehashing old things.
As far as barrels go AA is making Grendel barrels or having them made for them with the "Official" Grendel chamber.
AA has a Shilen upgrade for their barrels so Shilen is still making Grendel barrels.
Whoever( Shaw?) makes AA's rack grade barrels must be making the Grendel chambered barrels.
So there are companies that are making the Grendel chambered barrels if you look in the right places that are listed here on the forum.
At least several of the companies that started doing other chambers did so because they didn't want to be held to the quality control requirements that the AA license required.
Hopefully with the trademark being released( remember this just happened not too long ago) and with SAAMI going through( also not that long ago in terms of a business cycle) more companies will see the sense of going back to the SAAMI specs. in the chambers they offer.
Of course none of this happens overnight and the things people were doing for this years Shot Show( once again it just took place) probably were finallized before the trademark & SAAMI happened.
