From what I’m reading they supposedly changed something in the original 308 mags to help with feeding non-308 rounds. Then they marked them with Brown Follower and indicator on the botttom of the mag. The new 308 version now uses a gray follower and indicator.
The shape of the followers look identical to me, so, maybe it’s the spring rate/tension?
