You can bring either/both, as many people do.
Most attendees bring AR15s to the DM Course, followed by AR10s, SCAR-Hs, and bolt guns.
We'll be doing a lot of positional shooting with slings and tripods, so a heavy bolt gun is harder to manage.
For hunters, this is a great course to get a lot of trigger time in practical mountainous field conditions to learn your maximum effective range.
The range is outside of Price, Utah. It's a long drive from Northern ID.
