So you are saying that his offer to replace a barrel under warranty in August should now be on a back burner or null and void because I waited until Oct 22 to finalize my decision, which I might add due to work (live in Colorado, working a job in Nebraska - required to travel for work) and the desire to do one additional test to make damn sure it was not a problem on my end (also requires me to be home)?

Yes Mark, this is new. Rifle fired brass stayed consistent at 1.217-1.218. Out of nowhere I got a lot of vertical scratches that I presumed was dust getting in the chamber and the ring showing up just below the shoulder. Measurements on those when it showed up was 1.225 (going off memory here measurements from case to shoulder datum may be 1.125 - I know it was a .008 growth).

Another thread on it when I asked if my chamber could be stretching or something. The thought was that I might have a been over gassed and the bolt was unlocking too soon allowing the brass to stretch more. This is what prompted the complete teardown, inspection (pre-bore cam), lapping the receiver, bedding the barrel extension and gas block. Test firing for tuning still showed the scratches and ring, then I polished the chamber with a shotgun mop and lapping compound until scratches were no longer present from simple new sized brass being hand fed. Warranty is a little expired now.

No I will honor my statement on the warranty. We will replace the barrel if and when you want it as it really does look like scoring from a reamer chip...

I absolutely hate forums and social media when some member rushes out to flame another member or fb post without knowing the full story. People are more concerned with their post count than anything.

Every vendor has a project where it seems nothing goes right. Outsourced part delays, staff issues, equipment failures...it happens. An upper ordered in Jan of 17 on a posted lead time of 10-12 weeks then verbally stated closer to 14 weeks because of Shot Show...which turned into 26 weeks before I had it...with issues upon arrival (not the chamber).

I may be on his shit list. PF has a stellar reputation for quality product, I am probably one of those where nothing went right. I gave PF the benefit of the doubt because of that reputation, surely the problem must be on the end user having done something wrong.

Sometimes it's just better to walk away, and I was prepared to do that with this $1800 upper. Strip it for parts, or rebarrell.
