I love illuminated reticules. Besides the obvious, being visible against a dark target or in low/no light, they can simplify some of today's helpful but complex reticules (h58 and the like comes to mind)
How about a reticule that allows you to individually illuminate the mil/moa dots?
For instance: (fake numbers) At 500 yards you need to account for 2 mils of drop for your new Grendel rig. On your scope, you twist the illumination dial from "illuminate whole reticule" past "illuminate only dot 1" to "illuminate only dot 2". Now only the 2nd mil dot is glowing. Bang. Ding.
So basically only the aiming point you want is what would be illuminated. combine that with an FFP setup and a LRF and you're talking one intuitive setup.
Any takers? lemme guess, it exists and costs mega bucks
