My experience is the opposite of both those claims.

Reliability-wise, not so much. No problems with the Finn and East German or Polish guns, but many of the others crap the bed often. The fire control mechanism is also more exposed to infiltration from debris than the AR family, and subject to dead trigger malfunctions, which really suck.

Interesting. Don't know if it'd make any difference in the results, but I would rather they had used a Russian 7.62x39 AKM than the Romanian 5.56x45 SAR.
